CEO PROFILES: Jit Saxena, CEO & Co-founder, Netezza Jit Saxena, a business-savvy entrepreneur, brings an impressive portfolio of accomplishments, skills and experience to Netezza. Previously, Saxena was founder, chairman and CEO of Applix Inc., a leading provider of analytical CRM software that he took public in 1994. While at Applix, Saxena guided the company to a leadership position in the CRM market and achieved an eight-fold increase in market value subsequent to the IPO. Prior to founding Applix, Saxena was a senior director at Data General where he was responsible for the development of the company's software products. Saxena earned an MS in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University , an MBA from Boston University and a B. Tech (EE) from the Indian Institute of Technology (Mumbai). In July 2003, he was named an Ernst & Young New England Entrepreneur of the Year. Scott Kliger, Founder, EVP, and CTO, Jingle Networks Scott is an advertising industry pioneer. In 1997, Scott was the original inventor of the precedent-setting Enliven product line for Narrative Communications Corp, a company that he co-founded. Enliven created the 'rich media' advertising category on the Internet. Among the many advertising industry firsts that Enliven was responsible for are the first Internet advertisements that contained audio for AT&T "Little People" campaign. Scott was CTO of Narrative until it was acquired by Excite@Home in 1998. During his time at Excite@Home Scott was responsible for setting their advertising related technology direction, business development and strategic direction. Prior to co-founding Narrative Communications in 1995, Scott served as chief architect of Lotus Development's Next Generation Products Group, where he was responsible for the technical and overall development of the company's Notes-based eSuite component applications. Before joining Lotus, he was the development team leader for WordPerfect Corp.'s Windows 95 and OS/2 software products. Previously, Scott was IBM's lead architect for the user interface portion of the OS/2 operating system. Jeffrey C. Taylor, Chief Executive Officer, Eons Jeff Taylor left Monster in August 2005 to pursue a new unprecedented venture targeting people 50+ and now serves as Eons' CEO and founder. Taylor has reinvented the way job hunters seek employment. His "monster idea," conceived at the dawn of the World Wide Web, quickly became one of the first dot-com companies (454th registered domain on the Web) and has since become the world's leading online career site. Today, the Monster global network consists of 22 local content and language sites in 20 countries and serves 20 million unique visitors monthly. Taylor serves on both the National and Massachusetts boards of directors of Junior Achievement and is also a board member of Boston 's Wang Center for the Performing Arts. Taylor holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst ; a Certificate-Owner/President Management (OPM) Program, Executive Education, Harvard Business School ; and an Honorary Doctorate from Bentley College . Dave Balter, Founder/CEO, BzzAgent CEO Dave Balter founded BzzAgent in 2002. Since that time, his company has provided word-of-mouth media services for dozens of Fortune 500 companies and has been featured in The New York Times Sunday Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist and on National Public Radio. A co-founder and current board member of The Word of Mouth Marketing Association, Balter is an international speaker on the topic of word-of-mouth marketing. He was named to the "40 Under 40" list by The Boston Business Journal in 2006 as well as by Advertising Specialty Institute in 2001. Women's Wear Daily named him one of the "Top 7 Individuals Changing the Face of Beauty" in 2001. Balter earned a B.A. in Psychology from Skidmore College and aspires to build the world's largest rock garden. Andy Ory, CEO, President & Cofounder, Acme Packet Andy brings 15 years of telecommunications and computer industry experience, as well as leadership skills, expertise, and vision to his role as president and CEO. Prior to founding Acme Packet, Andy was the founder, CEO, and chairman of Priority Call Management (PCM), which produced network-based solutions that allowed service providers to offer prepaid calling, enhanced messaging, and one number services. At PCM, Andy raised $15 million, built a management team, and oversaw all company operations for nearly ten years. During his tenure, PCM was ranked 5th in the Deloitte & Touche list of fastest growing high technology companies in New England and 21st in the nation for high technology growth. In 1999, Andy managed the successful acquisition of the company by the LHS Group for $162 million. Andy holds a BA degree from Harvard University . Berge Ayvazian, Chief Strategy Officer, Yankee Group Berge Ayvazian is Yankee Group's chief strategy officer.
